I am tired! I have been very busy these past few months. With the kids out of school, I have not had as much time as I would like for myself. A good friend of ours is in the hsopital suffering from the many side effects of taking the medicine called DigiTek, and now has to have a heart transplant, I feel really bad for him, I try and call and check on him every day, and my husband goes to see him when he can, I hope that he get better soon.

My jobs are not what I thought they would be, I am perplexed because I thought it would be easier. I mean who would not want to save money on their cellular service (up to 75%) and get their minutes for 8 cents? and not to mention a FREE cell phone? I have given out almost 300 cards, and I have put up numerous flyers, but high as gas is these days, I just can not afford to do that everyday.

I know that there are millions of people who do not have any type of health insurance or coverage, you would think that saving anywhere from 60% to 80% on medical bills for entire family @$13 per week would peak someone's interest. Not to mention the free cell phone and 250 minutes they would get free everymonth they have the plans!!

Well I feel a whole lot better now that I have vented some of my fustration! Time to go back to my other duties (wife and mother).:boy:

1. Have all your chores done. Studies show that it's easier to sleep in a clean home.

2. Empty your thoughts before you go to bed. Write in a Journal, talk to your significant other or best friend, or meditate prior to entering your bed.

3. Train your brain. Use your bed for two things only. Bed is for sleeping and intimacy. If you have a tendency to go through a pluthra of thoughts before you finally nod off, do it before you get under the cover. It's simple. Bed is for sleeping.

4. Remove all distractions. Example: Lights, alarm clock (Moving your alarm clock across the room has 2 advantages. 1. You won't be bothered by the light. And 2. When waking in the morning you have to physically wake up and turn off the alarm allowing you a smother transition into waking up.) No televisions, hand held games, iPods, books, or other distracting things.

5. Create a bedtime routine lasting about 15 minutes. Make your routine the very last thing you do before you go to your room to sleep. Brush your teeth, read a book, pray, or meditate.

6. Keep all lights off and out of sight.

7. Keep your room cool. Not to hot. And not to cold. Run a small quiet fan. The breeze is soothing, and will keep the temperature regulated throughout the night.

8. Empty your head of all thoughts. Imagine something relaxing like a waterfall, the ocean, the sun rise or, the sun set, you can also imagine numbers or patterns. Whatever is relaxing and comforting to you. Think of that one thought and that thought alone. When other thoughts pop into your head throw them out with your calm, comforting thought.

9. Practice slow heavy breathing techniques.

10. Studies have shown that not allowing your tongue to graze the bridge of your mouth will decrease the stimulation to your brain. Keep your tongue resting at the bottom of your mouth tucked in nice and neatly next to your bottom teeth.

11. If all else fails. Just believe. You are your biggest down fall. You're in charge. If you train your brain to do something, it has no choice but to do it. Tell your body that it's time to sleep. Make a bedtime ritual. Start at your feet and work your way to your head. (I doubt you'll make it all the way to your head) Slowly imagine going from toe to head. Tell your self that your toes are to heavy. Imagine your body becoming heavy and sleepy. It goes something like this. "My toes are getting heavy, I cannot move my toes." Then simply don't allow your self to move your toes anymore. It sounds silly. But the human brain is mold able and easily aroused. If you believe, your body/brain have no choice but to follow.

Happy sleeping.

By: Thelma (MommyTee)

The main factor in finding toys your baby will love is their age. It is okay for the toy to be slightly challenging but you do not want them to be frustrated. Pay attention to age ranges listed on the toys.

Most babies like simple things and despite all the advertisement do not need all the bells and whistles. In fact, some toys that make noise can be too loud. Check the volume level and if you can’t turn it down, put some clear tape over the speakers, but be sure to fasten the tape securely so your baby can not get it off. Babies and children love balls, dolls, cars, blocks, and so much more. Your imagination, baby's age and safety are your only limits.

Here are some of the toys my babies have loved:

A non-breakable mirror: Both little babies and toddlers love mirrors. Put them in front of a mirror and they will be fascinated. As they get older they will look for “the baby”. When they discover that the baby is themselves, sit back and watch their silly antics as they play with their image in the mirror.

Plastic washable dolls: Younger babies are fascinated by the doll because it looks like them and if plastic and washable they can chew on it as well. Older babies love to wash them and take care of them and rock them. As they learn to talk you will see them repeat what you say, so remember, if you say it, you will hear it again in pretend play.

Stacking blocks: Plastic or wooden blocks will do. But, the Fisher Price Peek-a-Blocks are some of the best toys I have seen for babies and toddlers. They are great for small hands to hold, are stackable and you can find them in all shapes and sizes. This product also comes with different toys to put the blocks in and through. These were one of the best investments we made, toy-wise, for our little ones. Because they are long lasting and even my older children enjoy playing with our toddler with these blocks.

A musical crib mobile: For younger babies, soft music and colorful characters are interesting. They may also have a soothing effect on your fussy little one. Be sure you remove the mobile from the crib when baby can reach it.

It also has to be said your children’s favorite toys are things that are not toys. Children of all ages love hings from around the house that are safe. This can include boxes, large pillows, pots, pans, big spoons, cups and much more. Use your imagination, just always remember to think of safety first.

Plastic bowls of varying sizes lend themselves to stacking. It's also fun to place things inside the bowls and dump them out. You can combine some of the toys listed above with simple household items and make a whole new play experience. Give your child blocks and bowls and they will stack, fill, dump and have so much fun.

One of the most simple “toys” for a baby is, believe it or not, sunlight. Put baby near a window in the sun where it will not blind him/her but where they can watch shadows and such going by.

Of all the fun toys in the world, simple or complex, expensive or free, your baby loves to play with, there is only ONE that is the favorite. This toy is the key to all play experience. It doesn’t cost money and is beyond rewarding. This toy is YOU! Let your little baby explore your face with his or her hands. Talk to your little one. Make silly faces and as your baby gets older, get on their level and play with them. Let them climb on you , sit on you and play with you. The time spent playing with your child is NEVER a waste of time. You are building connections and memories that will last for a lifetime. So, get down and have fun with your child. Boogie to music or dance with your baby in your arms. Build them towers to knock down. Keep it simple or make it as elaborate as you want, but have fun and PLAY.

Slow cooking using a crockpot

Many of your favorite recipes can be successfully adapted to the crockpot or slow cooker if you follow a few simple rules. You'll find a basic time/temperature guide for converting recipes, some do's and don'ts for specific ingredients and a few tips for making your slow cooker dishes more flavorful.

Liquids
Generally, liquids may be decreased in slow cooking - a general rule of thumb is about half the recommended amount. Unless the dish contains rice or pasta, one cup of liquid is usually enough.

Pasta and Rice
When recipes call for cooked pasta to be added, cook it until just slightly tender before adding to the pot. Add 1/4 extra liquid per 1/4 cup uncooked rice, and use long grain converted rice for the best results. For long-cooking recipes, add cooked rice shortly before serving.

Beans
It is usually best to soak beans overnight before cooking them in the crockpot. Before adding sugar or acidic ingredients, the beans should be softened first, either in the slow cooker or on the stove top. If your recipe includes tomatoes, salt, or other acidic ingredients, the beans should be tender before beginning.

Herbs and Spices

Ground herbs and spices tend to dissipate over long cooking times, so it's best to add them near the end of cooking. Whole herbs release flavors over time, so are a good choice for crockpot cooking. You should taste and adjust seasonings, if necessary, before serving.

Milk/Cheese
Milk, sour cream, and cream break down over long periods of cooking, and should be added during the last hour. Condensed cream soups are good substitutions for milk and can be cooked for extended times. "Healthy," or reduced fat cream soups can be used in any recipe as a substitute.

Cheeses don't generally hold up over extended periods of cooking, so should be added near the end of cooking, or use processed cheeses and spreads.

Soups
Add water only to cover ingredients in soup, and add more after cooking if necessary for a thinner soup.
For milk based soups, add 1 or 2 cups of water and during the last hour, stir in milk, evaporated milk, or cream as called for.

Vegetables
Dense vegetables like potatoes, carrots, and other root vegetables should be cut no larger than 1" thick, and placed in the bottom of the pot, since they take longer to cook

Introduction to Bringing Home a Baby - A Mom's Perspective

So now you’re home and the feelings of anxiety are starting to set in as you and your partner are the sole caretakers of this tiny person, so helpless, and looking to you for all its needs....

So now you’re home and the feelings of anxiety are starting to set in as you and your partner are the sole caretakers of this tiny person, so helpless, and looking to you for all its needs. Relax...You will be tired and there may be times you feel like giving up from the exhaustion, but I’m here to tell you that the joys of taking care of a newborn baby will outweigh any negatives ten-fold. Here are some of my top pointers when it comes to bringing home a newborn baby.

1. As any experienced mother will tell you, sleep when the baby sleeps. An invaluable piece of information yet completely ignored most of the time. There is no societal rule that states you must wake at 6am, stay up all day, and then be in bed by 10pm when you bring a baby home. Allow your body and yourself to wake and sleep with the baby’s pattern for the first one to two weeks. In time, the sleeping pattern will adjust to a normal day and night routine and you’ll start to feel less like a zombie and more like a glowing new mom.

2. The feeding schedule of a baby is really no different than any other newborn. Expect to breastfeed or bottle feed your baby as often as every two to three hours and sometimes as frequently as every hour. Your baby will tell you how often he wants to eat. And yes, you will feel like your entire day and night is spent feeding your baby but it’s a wonderful time to bond with your baby and you will realize just how worthy you are to be taking care of this special person in your life.

3. You may see lots of new mothers out in public literally days after they’ve given birth, toting their babies around to stores and going shopping, but when you have a newborn baby, the best thing you can do for yourself and your baby is to take it easy and enjoy the comforts of your home while you and your baby are getting acquainted and adjusted. Sure, it’s a nice feeling to have complete strangers congratulate you down every aisle and want a peek at your new addition, but don’t feel like you have to run your errands or make public appearances with a new baby. Do what feels right for you but don’t bend to any pressures. Allow family and friends to shop for you.

4. Here’s one for the little boys. If you have found yourself in the debate with your partner over whether to circumcise your newborn boy, then you are not alone. This is not an easy decision for everyone. There are many debates as to whether this is beneficial for the baby’s health in the long term. Others will say it’s simply cosmetic. The decision you make most likely will not be based on just one or two factors alone so do the research and feel good about the decision you make.

5. Lastly of all, having a baby is emotional, tiring, and joyous all at the same time. Whether you’ve watched hundreds of TV shows or known many other women who’ve had babies and appeared like the 3 C’s (calm, cool, and collected) after they brought their baby home, please know that crying is normal, feeling like you want to give up is normal, and experiencing emotional train wrecks is all very normal. The hormones that regulate these feelings are running wildly through your body after you give birth so don’t deny yourself the ability to acknowledge these feelings. Talk to your doctor or partner for support and remember…you’re never alone.

I hope you will find these tips to be helpful when you bring your new baby home. Spend your time focusing on enjoying every little waking minute with your baby as he grows and melts your heart with every smile, finger squeeze, and giggle. Congratulations to every new mom out there!

Oh the joys of teething! My daughter is going through that stage now. She is almost 4 months old. I didn't think it would start this early but, apparently, I was wrong. She has all the classic sign's:

fussiness

drooling

chewing

crying

sleeplessness

swollen gums

rosy cheeks

That only names a few. If this sounds like what your child is dealing with, here are a few ideas to help you make it through this experience.

Wipe your childs face often with a dry cloth to help avoid a rash from their saliva.

Rub your baby's gums. They seem to really enjoy the pressure. Be sure to do this with clean hands!

Give your baby a teething ring or a wet wash cloth to chew on. If you place a wet wash cloth in the freezer for 25-30 minutes before letting your baby chew on it, it will help to sooth his or her pain.

Give your baby Tylenol or Advil for pain or fever (always be sure to ask your doctor which dose is correct for your baby's age and weight).

Rub vanilla extract on baby's gums. It will not only feel warm and soothing, but the vanilla has a calming effect.

There are many great teething products out there for people to try. You just need to find what is right to suit you and your baby. Sometimes even a simple toy can be effective at distracting a fussy little one. For my daughter, I find that playing with her toys works the best! She loves all the bright colors and sounds.

At times the teething process can be tiring. It can be especially frustrating when your great-sleeper is all of the sudden up a couple times a night. However, in the end it is worth all the struggles. Nothing can compare to seeing their smiling face after that first tooth pops through. There is no stopping them after that, watch out world.....here they come.

1 ½ tablespoons oil

This project requires the help and supervision of an adult due to the fact it uses water at the boiling point. Place dry ingredients in a bowl and add the liquids to them. Mix well and allow cooling time. This is a safe nontoxic paint that will keep well in your refrigerator for 1 week. This paint smells super nice!

Easy Finger paint

6 cups of water
2 cups of corn starch
Food coloring

Grab your large sauce pan and make some finger paint for your child. This is easy and nontoxic. In a large sauce pan bring all but 2 cups of the water to a boil in a separate bowl mix 2 cups cool water with the corn starch until it dissolves. Once the pan of water is boiling remove it from the heat and add the cornstarch mixture stirring as you add it in. Return this to the heat. Boil this mixture until the consistency is thick and clear.

Remove from heat and divide into small containers and allow cooling completely. At this point food coloring is added to create a rainbow of fun

Jell-O ™ Paint

Red, yellow, and blue Jell-O’s
Boiling water
Ice

Bring about 1 cup of water to a boil. Place each package of Jell-O in separate containers. Add just enough boiling water to make thick gooey finger paint like consistency of the Jell-o. Add ice if you wish add one ice cube to the mixtures to thicken them up faster. Allow to cool then paint on glossy paper.

Yummy Pudding Paint

1 package instant vanilla pudding
Food coloring

This is a nice paint for the young child that likes to eat their crafts! This is safe and non toxic! Mix pudding according to directions on the package divide into containers then add coloring. Yummy!

Shampoo paint

3 tablespoons cheap shampoo
Small amount of water
Food coloring

This is not for the child that likes to eat their crafts. This will smell so nice. We like to use strawberry shampoo and make pink paint. In a small mixing bowl add shampoo, water and a couple drops of food coloring of your choice. With an electric mixer mix at a high rate of speed until the mixture is the consistency of shaving cream. Place in a bowl and paint away! This would also be fun in the tub.

Glue Paint

3 Bottles White Glue
Kool-Aid
Old empty glue container or other sealable container

This makes a lovely glossy paint that smells so wonderful! I like to dump about a ¼ of the glue in each bottle into an old empty glue container. Then in each bottle add the Kool-aid to the remaining glue container. Mix with a straw. You can paint directly from the bottle or use brushes.

Side walk Paint

2 cups corn starch
2 cups cool water
Food coloring

Mix water and cornstarch well. Divide into non-breakable containers. Add food coloring to desired tint. Take out side and paint side walks. This will wash off with a hose or the rain. Provide children with various sized paint brushes and sponges cut into shapes. This project is environmentally friendly and cheap on the wallet.

Puffy Fluffy Paints

1/3 cup white Glue
2/3 non scented shaving Cream
Food coloring
Baby food jars or other tightly sealing containers

Mix white glue and shaving cream together in a bowl then divide among containers and add coloring to each container mixing well. This makes a very thick mixture used to add puffy texture to your children’s art work. Great for making clouds and snow men.

Your New Arrival
Your new baby may surprise you. After seeing pictures of chubby, smooth-skinned babies, a newborn baby may just surprise you with their wrinkly skin, acne, sometimes misshapen head, puffiness, and flattened nose. She or he may even have bruising from the birth process.

Feeding Time
The choice of how to feed baby is a personal choice. They say breast is best because of the fact it is the perfect food for baby. It does provide immunity benefits to baby and benefits to mother as well. However, the choice of how to feed baby is yours and yours alone. Formula has come a long way these days and is a healthy alternative to the breast.

Many mothers feed baby on-demand. This means that you use baby’s cues of hunger, such as crying, putting her hands in her mouth or rooting for the breast when her cheek is stroked.

Some mothers put baby on a feeding schedule of eating every 2-4 hours. Some babies need to eat more often and some less often.

Baby should be burped at the end of each feeding, and some in the middle of a feeding.

Many babies spit up a small amount of formula or breast milk. This is normal, due to the fact the muscle at the top of the stomach is not fully developed. However, vomiting is not the same as spitting up. This happens when all or most of a feeding is forcefully expelled.

Diapering time
There are so many diaper choices these days. G diapers are a wonderful, earth-friendly choice, as are cloth diapers. For convenience, many mothers still choose disposables. These are ultra-absorbent and simple to use.

If your son has had a circumcision, follow your doctors care instructions carefully. A little redness and yellow secretion is a good sign that your son is healing well. Watch for swelling or sores as these could be signs of infection and you should contact your pediatrician immediately.

Almost every baby leaves the hospital with an umbilical cord stump. Caring for this is simple when you keep in mind that this area should be kept clean and dry for quick healing. The healing process generally lasts 7 to 10 days. Keep baby's diaper folded down to avoid irritation and wipe the umbilical stump with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. This will speed the drying process.

Change baby when wet or soiled to avoid rashes.

Oh, the Crying
Babies usually cry for a reason. However, they may sometimes cry for no reason at all. Some times this can leave us frazzled. We remind you, however, to never shake a baby. Shaking a baby can cause serious internal injuries, or even death. There are many things you can try to soothe baby. Sometimes just running the vacuum or going for a walk with baby in a stroller is all it takes. Sometimes baby will just keep crying. As frustrating as it is, your baby loves you but just can not communicate her needs well yet. This too shall pass.

Author's Note
Being a new mom is not easy. Both you and baby are learning about life together. Though it is not always easy to be a new mom (or a new baby), it is a rewarding journey that you are on. Congratulations on your new arrival.

Does your child have a memory like an elephant? Do they excel at reading or math? How about cognitive skills, or physical sports? Do they just seem to have a “natural talent” for things? Your child may be gifted.

Not all gifted children have the same gifts. Some may be gifted in sports and not do so well in certain academics. One may be able to read at a college level and not be able to hit a ball. Others may have a musical gift, whereas another child may excel in art. One may grow up to be Pavlov and another Picasso. Although they may not always share the same gifts, some do. They all share a lot of the same characteristics. They do not, however, need to have them all to be considered a gifted child.

Research has shown that giftedness can be recognized as early as infancy. Gifted infants are extremely alert and always looking around, absorbing the world, learning as they watch. These babies tend to sleep less than most babies. They usually need to be stimulated while awake, although this may not always be the case. Some gifted infants may be just as content to look around. They mimic sounds earlier and are exceptionally sensitive to sounds, smells, textures, and will even cry vigorously in response to these if they are too strong.

The most recognized trait in gifted infants is extreme alertness. The hardest trait to recognize is the sensitivities. Some babies seem to cry for no reason, when they may actually be crying in response to a sensitivity they have that's unkown to the adults around them. A lot of times you may never know and you are left perplexed as to why your baby is crying. Sometimes you may even mistake it for colic.

The toddler years are where you will really start to see the signs. As infants, these toddlers were very alert. They still tend to sleep less than most of their peers. They will frequently reach “milestones”, such as walking and talking, earlier than average. Some may speak later, but begin speaking in complete sentences. (They have been quietly listening all along.) They have a strong desire to explore, investigate, and master their surroundings. They tend to be very active, but with a purpose. Some toddlers show an intense interest in numbers or letters. It is not uncommon for a gifted toddler to teach him or herself how to read or do simple math by the age of three. They will get bored easily and seek out new and interesting challenges.

As these toddlers grow into their pre-school years they are more observant, curious, will ask a lot of questions. They have intense interests, excellent memories, long attention spans, excellent reasoning skills, well developed powers of abstraction, conceptualization and syntheses. They see relationships in ideas, objects or facts, exhibit fluent, flexible, elaborate and original thinking. They have excellent problem solving abilities, learn quickly with less practice and repetition. They have a very vivid imagination as well as a well-developed sense of humor. A gifted child does not have to have all of these traits to be gifted, although they will usually have more than two. Many children who are gifted have “super sensitivities”. They tend to be overly sensitive or emotional. They may get their feelings hurt easily or feel extreme guilt if they have hurt someone else’s feelings. Some gifted children are even bothered by things as small as odors, loud noises, or even if the shoestrings on their shoes do not look "right". Some things just have to be perfect. It’s important to know that not all gifted children have these sensitivities.

Parenting a gifted child can be a bit of a challenge. They are very much like their peers. They just think “outside of the box”. They have a “black & white” mentality. There is no “gray” area for them.

My son is 5 years old and in kindergarten. His teacher, and my husband and I, agree that he shows signs of giftedness. He will most likely be tested for giftedness when he enters the 2nd grade. He excels at reading and math. He read his first word at two-years-old. That word was “pizza”. He is a very bright child and he is very well aware of it. Some days it can be very intimidating knowing that I gave birth to a child that will one day be smarter than me, if he’s not already.

All Parents Want Their Childs Firsts Birthday To Be A Memorable One

The first birthday has finally arrived, it is time to find the perfect gift, what do you get, where do you go to look for the gift, there are so many different stores now that cater to young children. A baby's first birthday is essentially an extended photo opportunity. When you have a birthday for you baby it is always memorable occasion filled with happiness and joy. Keep in mind most children will not remember their early years, so the first birthday is mostly for the adults in your child's life. Much of the time those at baby’s first birthday will have a chance to reflect on the past year, which is very important.

Favors are generally the highlight for children at a birthday party, and they love getting little gifts to take home. Small favors to go along with the party theme can be exciting. If the party revolves around a theme, the invitation can give a hint about it. The theme should be communicated in a language, befitting the age of the person invited. Usually the party theme will reflect her interests, hobbies or sports. There are many great party themes you can choose from, everything from your child’s favorite toy to theme character.

If you are on a budget you will need to think about the size of the invitation, if the invitation is oversized, square, or it has a strange shape it will cost more to mail via the post office. Knowing the actual number of people attending the event will make preparing for it easier. The invitations must be dispatched with ample time for guests to prepare for the event. Interactive birthday cards can play in CD-ROM drives, DVD drives and CD audio devices. One of the initial steps that you need to take in making handmade greeting cards is to decide on the text that you will include in the card. Personalized boxed birthday cards, non-personalized boxed birthday cards and customized boxed birthday cards are some of the varieties of boxed cards. Free Birthday e-cards are a boom for Internet users.

Like all family celebrations, a first birthday party is an observation of time passing. When choosing a birthday cake or if you going to make it on your own, try to make it unique or find something that is different. The birthday cake can be likened to guilty pleasures or pet peeves, or just one of those extraordinarily personal things that very few people knew about you. If you're baking skills consists of adding eggs and water to a package mix, fear not. With a little bit of imagination you can create a great birthday cake and have all the kids love it. The birthday cake should be prepared in accordance with the age of the birthday boy or birthday girl and the invitees.

Planning activities for children you could take out coloring books and or bubbles. If you don't have an entertainer coming to your party you will need to have some activities for the children to keep them busy. If there is no entertainer at the party you should plan an activity so it keeps the party flowing. There are many different types of activities, you could have pin the tail on the donkey, piñatas, or a tea party, there so many different activities just look on the internet for some ideas. When looking at character type parties the general age range is between 2 to 6. Depending on the age, the guest list, and the appropriate activities will vary.

9 Secrets to Pampering Yourself in a Pinch

There are women all over this country who feel like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way of life. While their reasons are many, the answers are all the same, “There’s just not enough time...

There are women all over this country who feel like they’ve lost themselves somewhere along the way of life. While their reasons are many, the answers are all the same, “There’s just not enough time in the day for me.”

Without adding that 25th (or even 26th or 27th) hour to your day, there are little things you can do to incorporate the four R’s (we’ll get to these later) of pampering into your daily routine. Remember when you had all day to and for yourself? You’d sit and perhaps do your hair or nails for hours. Boy were those the days. That was then though and this is now. Whether it’s your career, children, or other priorities, taking time out for you is more essential than what you think.

When you feel good, you have the ability to make those around you feel good. If you feel dreadful and unoptimistic about yourself, those around you will of course pick up on this. For example, have you ever noticed the mom at the supermarket who seems frazzled that all three of her children just happen to be misbehaving at the same time? This is usually because they’ve picked up on her stress and went with it. One is crying in the front of the cart and two are at the end of the aisle fighting while the mom is all but losing it trying to find her credit card or checkbook to pay for her groceries and hightail it out of there.

Feeling good and feeling good about yourself definitely has its benefits. To you, and those around you. For some reason, thinking about pampering yourself in this light helps us to place a priority on it. If we feel it will help us take care of our family better, do our jobs better, or be a better person, we’re all for it.

Taking time out to relax, refresh, renew, and revitalize doesn’t have to mean three hours a day for complete alone time. Here are ten little ways in which you can incorporate them into your daily life:

1. While running errands, or doing yard work, play a relaxing CD rather than an upbeat one. This will not only soothe your mind, but your soul as well. (This trick works will young children and falling asleep or calming down in the vehicle as well.)

2. While the children are napping or getting ready to come home from school, grab a quick face mask, apply, and then lay back in silence for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off the mask, and get ready for a great second-half of the day.

3. Have a home office? A plug-in scent diffuser with essential oils will help with little whiffs of pleasantness throughout the day. Do a little research on which oils appeal to you and you are on your way. If plug-ins aren’t your thing, all-natural candles and scents may be just way you need.

4. After the children are in bed, hubby is busy or not home for the evening, seize this opportunity for all its worth. Grab a relaxing CD, some candles, and go draw a nice warm bath. Soak for at least 15-30 minutes in the dark. Afterward, you’ll still have time for sugar scrubs or any other products you rarely get to use.

5. Warm up a spa neck pillow and watch some TV while your senses unwind.

6. Keep your favorite sugar scrub next to your hand soap and give yourself a mini-manicure. This literally takes less than thirty seconds and gives your hands the go signal for the rest of the day.

7. When stressed to the max, secure yourself a ME time block. This can be day or night, weekend or weekday. No one is going to regret that you need a break. Personal coaches that cost thousands of dollars to obtain, place this first on their list of things to do for their clients. You are getting the information for free. Save the money and purchase some new pampering goodies.

8. Drink lots of water and walk. Water helps flush your system of impurities and walking helps keep your physically and mentally refreshed. Offer to walk the dog from now on or if you are already the family dog-walker, make it a point to think about all the things in your life that make you happy or you are blessed with. Make your walks positive with a rule of no negative thoughts.

9. Quick showers are great refreshers, but what if you life depends on how quickly you can get in and out? Sugar scrubs are a great 30-second revitalizer. Apply all over after washing and just allow shower to rinse it away. The shine and softness will last all day long and you’ll feel and smell great.

Pampering your body and soul are self-created. No one can do this for you. However, the benefits are multiple and you deserve it.
